Tuesday's Yummy Tribute

Tuesday's Tribute
Today's tribute is to comfort food. Nothing says comfort like these amazing cupcakes from Crumbs bakery in Manhattan. Hubby and I decided to treat ourselves since we had a long last week.

Overpriced? Yes
Worth it? Absolutely!

Delish indeed!

Here's my gripe with the cupcakes though--they work in an urban setting. But for suburbianites who drive everywhere, they don't. I mean have you tried driving with a cupcake? Eating on of those pretties would have been an accident waiting to happen if you were behind the wheel. Thus, it is my dream to open a cookieria in suburbia someday. I think this is why cupcake bakeries only really thrive in urban-walking-public-transportation settings.

Oooh, do those look good! My favorite splurge food treat is a hot fudge brownie sundae (made with real homemade ice cream!) from this little family-owned ice cream place in Cleveland (Sandy's) in the neighborhood where I grew up. I have fond memories of going there with my dad as a kid. My husband and I will drive out of our way to go there, rather than go to a chain ice cream place like Dairy Queen, because the ice cream is so good.
