These were supposed to be peanut butter kiss cookies. I think I had the oven just a smidgen too high. Oops. Right in the trash.
These were supposed to be chocolate chip, but I melted the butter instead of softening it. The hot butter melted the chips, making them wet, chocolate blob cookies. They still tasted good, so not a total loss.
As long as they taste good, that's the most important thing! Don't feel bad - I'm totally hopeless when it comes to baking (other than those little chocolate chip cookie dough rounds!).
Reminds me of the first key lime pie I made in my first apartment (many, many years ago!) where I used evaporated milk instead of sweetened condensed milk. I invited my whole family to my "first" meal in my own place. Dinner was terrific and dessert looked and smelled great. I sliced into the pie, went to lift it with a spatula and the whole slice slid off the spatula, kind of like soup!! It was a good laugh, and as you can see, I can still remember it vividly 40 years later!! At least you could eat your cookies -- and chocolate chip cookies are good in ANY form!!

Baking disasters are always so depressing!
