Ah man hats. Is there nothing more simple? And yet they LOVE them. I like the stripe.
That came out really nice, and it looks very warm!
I need to make my FIL a hat. This would be perfect. Thanks for sharing. Hope all is well!
Nice pattern! I like how the brim folds over. Also, the gray with the simple stripe is perfect for a 'guy' hat.
Cute very cute it reminds me of one of those fishmen hats great job.:)

Guess what I saw your hat at CPP! Great job! Your awesome.
I'm part of a seniors charity crochet group and this pattern may be just the thing that the leader was looking for. I'll print and share it with her - thanks! - lol - too bad you couldn't get hubby to sit still long enough to pose for pic.

Love your work. Have been looking for a hat that has that "manly" appeal for a while. Glad I came across your blog.
I just finished making the Husbands Hat for my hubby and he loves it. Thanks for putting up a great pattern. I will be using this pattern again, as I am going to make one for my 3 yr old son. ^_^
I finished the one for my son, so now both have a matching hats. They love it so much. Thanks for a great pattern. I have posted photos of them on my blog!

Christina, thanks for the super easy and versatile pattern! I made mine in just a couple of hours using Plymouth Boku yarn and I'm overjoyed with the results. Thanks for generously sharing!

Hi there, I love your pattern and would like to make it..one question, what is a magic ring?
WOW!! I am so glad I found your pattern on ravelry. The magic ring!?!? I have never heard of it, and now love it!! Thanks! I'm starting the pattern now!!
just found your hat pattern
what is the magic ring?
Since I see several comments asking, and I didn't know myself; I used my google-fu to find a good link for learning what a magic ring is: http://www.crochetme.com/Dec_Jan_0405/reads_round.html
what head size does this hat fit?
The hat will fit an average man's head. My husband's head is about 23-24".
I love this hat--pretty sure I'd like to make it for myself!
Thanks!
I Just made my own hat for my... well not husband but <3 of my life! and he loves it :) it was quick, easssy squeezy. He requested a larger stripe which was easy to figure out how to do (more rows). I enjoyed making your hat, thank you so much for the pattern.
It was rather interesting for me to read that article. Thanx for it. I like such topics and anything connected to this matter. I would like to read more soon.
Ah ha!! At last! A hat that might fit me...not that I have a BIG head you understand, but it IS bigger than what passes for average. Most hats in shops sit on top of my head like a pimple...must be all the brains (LOL!).
Anyhow....I was googling for crochet hats (having priced them up in the local shops...and then they don't fit anyway...)and ended up here.
I hope i can finish it before Spring starts here (i am not noted for my speed. I ended up discarding a cardigan I started for my young son - aged 18 - 24 months - when he reached the age of , um, 14....).
Thanks for sharing your skills.

i cant wait to start this pattern for my Dad. Just to clarify, are you to crochet the whole thing with 2 strands held together? Sorry, I'm a beginner with patterns... thanks! Cherl
I have made soooo many of these since finding your pattern. I've made them for family members, and coworkers for Christmas gifts . They all loved them. If they only knew how easy they were to make. Thanks so much for posting this pattern. I love it!
My husband loves this hat! It's so easy to make and I enjoyed every minute of it, thanks.
My husband loves this hat! He wants another one with a different color. I had fun making this hat and the pattern is so easy, and it was my first hat. Thanks.
I've made a few of these now, but I'd love to make a smaller version for a child. Any suggestions? I've got in mind leaving out the last two increasing rows, and having only about 11 or twelve following rows. Do you think that'll work?
I will make one for my husband who started chemotherapy today.thanks.
So glad to find this pattern. I'm a newer crocheter, so I'm not too sure of what you mean by
"Holding two strands of yarn together"
The other person asked if you use 2 strands for the whole thing?
Also, can I use 'simply soft' size 4 yarn?
Thanks. Karen
Is the contrasting yarn also worked double? Love this pattern! Everyone gets one for Christmas. Using Deborah Norville Everyday Soft Worsted Anti-Pilling yarn. So very soft - not scratchy like Red Heart SS.
This will be my first hat - and I bought Wool Ease Thick & Quick - would this work?
