Our garden

Hubby decided to try planting our container garden from seeds this year, instead of using starter plants. Some of the plants are thriving and others were total flops.

Piper gave me this plant for Mother's Day this year. Hubby re-planted it in this pot that our neighbor gave us and it's growing leaps and bounds.

Our tomato plants are growing nicely.

On the left is a green pepper plant and on the right is a cucumber plant.

More tomatoes... hubby loves them.

The biggest disappointment is that our basil died. We've planted a few more seeds and are hoping those will take. We also had a snow pea plant which produced a few snow peas, then it died too. I've read those don't last long though.

I can't wait for the first tomato buds!

I didn't even realize that you could grow tomatoes in pots like that.

Your garden is coming right along. It is the end of the tomato season here -- too darn hot!

Yeah peas like it cold. It hasn't been chilly enough for them this year.
But the basil? Mines going NUTS! I don't even really like basil all that much. I'm drying it and hoping that will help.

Mmmm, tomatoes and basil! I've been meaning to grow some vegetables on my sunporch since I moved in my house, but haven't done it yet. I have such a black thumb when it comes to plants - I usually forget to water them. Good thing my cat and my kids can let me know when they're hungry, ha, ha!

Your container garden looks extremely successful! My tomato plant has a ton of buds on it. I'll keep my fingers crossed for both of us!
