TGIF!

No crochet projects to show. Sorry guys.

I did finally finish the second sleeve on Pi's sweater but not much more since then. Between being pretty busy at home this week and having a cold, I've been more out of commission than I'd like. This weekend, I plan to stay in bed, rest and finish up the sweater, finally. Also, I've got some secret swap crocheting to finish and mail off on Monday.

In other news, my dad will be doing his first communion and confirmation this year and has asked me to be his sponsor. I'm really excited about this! My dad is finally coming home to the church!! Its a big sacramental year in general for my family. Besides my dad, the twins will be doing communion and confirmation too and Pi will be doing her first reconciliation and communion! AND my parents will be getting married in the church as well this March!!! How cool is that? They were married by a Justice of the Peace over 27 years ago, but are now re-newing their vows. Talk about the warm and fuzzies!

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Awww, how great about all the sacraments coming up this year! I was raised Catholic, went to Catholic schools, and did all the sacraments except for confirmation. My husband attended a Baptist church growing up. My daughter goes to a Catholic school, but my husband and my husband and kids and I belong to a Protestant religion now. My oldest brother is married to a Muslim woman, so we have a whole mixture of religions in my family. Her sister-in-law travels to Jerusalem every year to visit family, and she brought my brother back a vial of Holy Water, a bottle of soil from the spot where Jesus was believed to have been crucified, and a rosary. I think that's pretty cool. Here in the Cleveland area, we have a place called Our Lady of Lourdes Shrine -http://www.srstrinity.com/index_009.htm , where people are believed to have been cured of various illnesses and disabilities from drinking water that flows from rocks in the hillside where the shrine is set. It's a beautiful place. I love visiting there in the spring when the flowers are blooming.

Hope you get lots of rest and your cold gets better. I think fuzzy bunny slippers, jammies, chicken soup and crocheting are all in order for the weekend! (I FINALLY added a pic of the scarf you sent me to my blog. You probably already know that though...you blog-stalker you! hehe)

Lots of church action in your family! I've only been to a Cathlolic church once with a few friends in high school really late at night. It was the day after 9/11 and we each lit a candle.

I put a photobucket slideshow up if you still want to see more Seattle pics. Nothing extraordinary, just random buildings. You can see it here: http://s153.photobucket.com/albums/s208/laura_lynn_hanks/?action=view¤t=275076c1.pbw

Get well soon!
