Where did that nail go?

I called out of work sick yesterday. I tried to get up to go, but there was no way I was crawling out of bed. After calling my boss, I went back to sleep and slept til 3p.m. Even with waking up so late, I was still out cold for the night by 11p.m. I'm back at work today, though I don't think I should be.

Sunday night I developed a cough which has now turned into wheezing. I'm going to see the doctor after work tonight just to make sure its not bronchitis. I don't think it is, but better to be safe than sorry, right?

On another note, hubby and I have decided we must have joined the mouse of the month club by accident. We caught our 3rd mouse since November this weekend. Yet, we're not allowed to get a cat.

Onto even grosser things...

So I'm on the subway this morning, reading Dune, when I hear this "snap, snap" noise. I look up and the man sitting across from me is...get this...clipping his fingernails! On the subway!! After he clips, he's throwing them on the floor. Nasty!

Now, don't get me wrong and think I'm a sissy for gross stuff. I've seen loads of nasty things on the subway and my tolerance is usually pretty high but there is something about clipping nails on the subway that is just so...inappropriate. I mean, the nails can fly! "Snap....clip" and you could lose an eye! Who knows where that thing is landing?

I'm all for multi-tasking on the subway...reading, crocheting, paper-work, studying, eating, applying makeup...whatever...but clipping nails is not cool.

So what inappropriate things have you seen in public? Really, I want to know.

I had a coworker that used to do that. Is it grosser if it's a stranger perhaps?

Ugh. The clipping of nails on the train is THE most disgusting thing. I'd almost rather see a guy touching himself that hear that clip clip. Ugh.

Yuck! Those clippings are sharp and fly at dangerous speeds. I would have to bury my face in a scarf or something.
Ick to the mouse. I sometimes get them in the summer if the doors are left open at night. Luckily the dog goes wild if there is one in the house so I know we're rat-free at the moment.
Sorry to hear you're so sick! Sleeping a day away was probably just what you needed. Get well soon!

That's funny about the nail clipping. I've never seen anything that gross on the busses here in Cleveland, LOL! The mouse thing reminds of when my husband and I lived in a condo complex a few years ago, and my husband was the maintenance man for the complex. Another tenant knocked on our condo door one evening, and asked my husband if he could borrow our cat, because he said he came home from work, opened his cupboard, and saw a mouse sitting in a box of donuts, eating one! My husband gave him a mouse trap. Our cat is declawed in the front, but she still likes to hunt mice, birds, and chipmunks outside. We've (fortunately) never had any mice come inside. My husband's boss at the condos, the property manager, was terrified of cats, and our cat wandered into the office one day when she was working (it was a nice day so she had the door open), and she called my husband on his cell phone, and was hysterical, screaming and crying that a cat was in the office, and wanted my husband to come get the cat. My husband didn't tell her it was our cat, LOL! That still cracks me up to imagine someone being that terrified of a house cat! Another time my husband knocked on a tenant's door, because he had to come in to make a repair, and our cat had followed him, and was sitting by the lady's door. My husband walked away for a minute to pick up some trash, and the lady opened her door when she heard the knock, and only saw the cat sitting there looking at her, and screamed, like the cat had knocked on the door, ha, ha!

Hope you get better soon Christina. OMG gross but, I have seen a grown man sit at a bus stop and dig all in his nose like he was hurting for gold or something then go whip it on the bus stop seat yuck.

Yuck! I hate it when people do that. Just this Sunday some lady was doing that in Church. Every time you heard the snip snip, I could see the people infront of her cringe, like loose nails were flying in their hair or something. It's disgusting! The only thing that I think is worse, is when people floss in public. My grandma does that at the table after a meal out and it is so embarassing. I can't stand to watch, I usually get up and excuse myself to go to the restroom until she is done because it makes me gag.
