Twin hats for twin girls.

This year I decided I wasn't going to go nuts giving handmade gifts like I did last year. While I 100% loved that I was able to give every person on my list something handmade, I just didn't have the time this year to make something for everyone. Store bought gifts it is. But.... (I know you smelled a but coming!) I can't help but make a few handmade things to go along with the purchased gifts this year.

While at the fabric store, I noticed these awesome oversized buttons. They're bright and they're funky. I loved them on sight and knew I had to make something that really featured them. The best part is there was a purple/pink combo and a yellow/green combo. My sister Tiffani's fav colors are purple and pink and my other sister Jennifer loves yellow and green.

Button tab hats seem to be all the rage lately, so I went searching for a pattern and found THIS freebie at Ravelry. Great pattern, very clear and easy to follow.

The pink one is made with Red Heart soft, doubled up.

Tiff's hat

The green one is made with Caron pounder, single stranded.

Jenn's hat.

Hopefully the girls will love them. I'd better get back to that Advent calendar. At the rate I'm going, I'll be lucky if its done next year.

These are great! I think I'll have to keep an eye out for some oversized buttons at the store!

After looking at the pattern I like the hat much more with the oversized buttons than the regular ones they have on there.

(Sorry about that deletion. Weird computer things going on and I pressed the wrong buttons.)
