Friday Night Fireworks

Since our July 4th attempt to see fireworks was a bust, hubby and I took Piper to see the Friday Night Fireworks in Coney Island. My camera wasn't quick enough to get pics of the actual fireworks, but they were amazing!

The famous Wonder Wheel and Dino World rides.

As hubby calls her, here is "No Fear Piper" on some crazy ride that had her spinning in the air.

She's the pink blur somewhere in here too. This ride has ear splitting loud music and my daredevil was dancing in her seat, ha!

Here she is rope climbing. Other than the girl running this game, I didn't see anyone complete it successfully.

A fire-throwing woman outside of the freak sideshow tent.

Who can go to Coney Island without stopping at the original Nathans? Mmmm, cheese fries!

Whoever though Coney Island would be quiet without Astroland was sadly mistaken. The place was packed tighter than sardines.
Pip had so much fun and was so tired out, that she fell asleep as soon as we got home. Now that's a successful night if I ever saw one!

Sounds like fun!

The only amusement park we have left here in the Cleveland area is Cedar Point, and I haven't been there in years, because besides just being so expensive, it hardly has any non-roller coaster rides anymore (I don't really like roller coasters).

I miss our old Geauga Lake amusement park. It was only a 35 minute drive from where I live, had a lot of smaller, non-roller coaster rides, and was a lot cheaper than Cedar Point. I have a lot of good memories of going there with my husband when were dating.

Six Flags bought it some years ago, and it went totally to pot - a lot of broken rides, dirty, rude employees, etc. It got reopened later as a half amusement park/half waterpark, with practically nothing for younger kids, and that was even worse, and failed miserably It closed for a couple of years and just reopened as a waterpark, but I won't be going. I miss the original park.

My kind of Friday night: family & fun! We had a ball game until 9:30pm. My boys fell asleep immediately too!
