Can you stand another ami or two?

Pi saw this ice cream cone over at Blah Blah Blahhging and fell in love. She's in full summer mode and nothing says summer more than ice cream. This little guy whipped up in about an hour. Pi wanted a face on the ice cream part, even though I think it would have looked better on the cone part. Either way, he's cute. I'll be making more flavors for her soon.

Pi was also digging the Tiny Teddies pattern from the May issue of Crochet Today. I made him a little bigger than the pattern called for but other than that I think he's pretty close to the one in the magazine.

Both amis were made with Caron pounder in pink. The white on the teddy is Red Heart and I have no clue what the brown is. Its old yarn from years ago.

Wonder when my ami streak will end? I need to do a wearable or something soon. But this weekend is CRW weekend! I've got some errands to run today (laundry, boooooo) but every moment that I'm home, I'll be working on it.

Laura, I had no idea Lion Brand was going to open a place in Union Square. When my job moves to West 4th street next year, I'll be really close! Woohoo! Thanks for the headsup.

Thanks for the offers to move in with some of you. You guys rock! Laura, the 3k I mentioned IS just for first month's rent and security, so that was my low-ball figure. If we found a place through a real estate agent, it would be $4,500 instead. I love NY but not its apartment prices.

Cute cone!!!

Yeah, those NY prices are why we live in Jersey. Even when you factor in the price of commuting to NYC, it still comes out much cheaper!

Very cute ami's! My daughter has really gotten into monkey-themed stuff (probably because her best friend loves monkeys), so I need to crochet her a monkey one of these days.

Aaaack (sound of me choking over the idea of $3,000 for 1st months' rent and security deposit on an apartment)! My husband and I are renting a 4 bedroom, 1.5 bath single-family home (in a suburb), and it's $975 a month and that still feels expensive to me. Now, after hearing about how high the rents are in NYC just for an apartment, I don't feel so bad!

After reading Bezzie's comment, I see now why people are willing to spend so much time commuting every day from Jersey to NYC. It's funny though, here in the Cleveland area, generally the farther you move out, the more expensive the housing is - the closer you are to downtown (excluding downtown itself), the cheaper it is.

They are precious! I want to do more ami's when or if i ever find the stuffing. I really don't want to continue using rice, I would rather eat it.

I really heart the ice cream cone!! great, now i am hungry. that's NYC for you. Maybe look on craigslist and in the paper so you don't need to use an agent. Or better yet find someone you know who is renting and then this way maybe they will waive the security and fist and last month?? Anony Joyce

Love the amigurumis! That ice cream cone is too cute with the little smiley face.
You'll have to stop by (and get some pictures) when Lion Brand is close to your work.
