R.I.P.

Benjamin Franklin Crab passed away yesterday. August 27, 2008 - March 31, 2009. We buried him, and the teal shell he loved so much, in the backyard. He leaves behind his friend, William Penn Crab.

We're not really sure why he died, but he was much quieter than usual the day before he died. Piper is handling it much better than I expected. Strong kid, that one.

Awww, poor Piper! I'm sorry to hear her crab died.

My daughter has had two hamsters die on her since January. Her little hamster Chester who she had for 3 years died in early January. I got a new hamster for her birthday, Butterscotch, and she died within 2 weeks after we got her - she had wet tail. She's still sad about her hamsters. I told I'll get her another hamster when I get my first paycheck now that I've gone back to work.

At least now after reading your post, I know my husband and I aren't crazy for burying hamsters in our backyard, ha, ha!
